This unusual octagon shaped Jo Marz bone box

has been handcrafted in our JMT studio by

carefully shaping and piecing together sections of

ox bone reclaimed from oxen raised as a food

source. After gluing these pieces together they are

smoothed and the edges are sanded and rounded.

In the final stage, the box has detailed scrimshaw,

tattooing and color applied and is then polished.

Prior to bone reclamation for the creation of

handcrafted items. the animal bones were

discarded and served no purpose. This hinged box

has decorative solid brass antiqued designs

including an octagon shell motif in the center, large

faceted rhinestones and blue zircon crystals

highlight the center design. This is a hallmarked

"First Edition" by Jo Marz.
