This Jo Marz bone box has been handcrafted in

our JMT studio by carefully shaping and piecing

together sections of ox bone reclaimed from oxen

raised as a food source. After gluing these pieces

together they are smoothed and the edges are

sanded and rounded. In the final stage, the box

has detailed scrimshaw, tattooing and color

applied and is then polished. Prior to bone

reclamation for the creation of handcrafted items,

the animal bones were discarded and served no

purpose. This square bone box has solid brass

antiqued silver corners and filigree. A large circle

of rhinestones is gathered at the base of a peridot

green faceted crystal in the center. This is a

hallmarked ‘First Edition‘ by Jo Marz.
